In Pot Limit Omaha, the minimum bet is always the size of the big blind, and the maximum bet is always the size of the pot.
Also in Omaha, you have to use 2 cards from your hand, and 3 cards from the board (community cards).  You may use any 2 cards from your hand, and any 3 cards from the board.  But it has to be 2 from your hand, and 3 from the board.
This is not like Texas Holdem, where you can use 1 card or even no cards from your hand.
Each player is dealt 4 cards.
Each player is dealt 4 cards.
Then there is the 1st betting round.  The player to the left of the big blind begins this betting round.  Each player has the option to check, call, bet, raise, or fold.
THE FLOP: After this round of betting is complete, there are 3 community cards dealt to the board.  This is known as “The Flop”.  All players can use these community cards for their hand.
After the flop is dealt, there is a 2nd betting round.
The player to the left of the dealer begins this betting round.
THE TURN: After this round of betting is complete, a 4th community card is dealt to the board, called “The Turn”.
A 3rd betting round then takes place.
THE RIVER: After this round of betting is complete, a 5th and final community card is dealt to the board, called “The River”.
After the river card is dealt, a 4th and final betting round takes place.
Each player can use any combination of 2 hole cards and 3 community cards, to make the best 5 card hand.
The best 5 card hand at showdown wins the pot.
You can also win the pot before the showdown, if you get your opponents to fold, and you are the only player left in the hand.

The minimum bet in Pot Limit Omaha is always the size of the big blind, and the maximum bet is always the size of the pot.

Betting in Limit Omaha is just like the betting in Limit Hold’em.  The only amount you can bet during the first 2 betting rounds is the size of the big blind.  The only amount you can bet during the 3rd and 4th betting rounds (turn and river) is twice the big blind.

Omaha Hi/Lo is a split pot game, where one player wins the high hand, and one player can win the low hand. To win the high or the low, you must use 2 cards from your hand, and 3 cards from the community cards.

  • To win the high hand, the best 5 card hand wins, like most poker games.
  • To win the low hand, 5 cards must be 8 or lower (2 from your hand, and 3 from the community cards). This does not always happen, and when it doesn’t, the high hand wins the entire pot. A good way to remember this is if the 5 community cards do not have 3 cards that are an 8 or lower, a low hand is not possible.
  • Also keep in mind that aces can be played as a high card and/or a low card.

The betting in Omaha High/Low can be Pot limit or limit.
