Sit and Go's

Quick Mini Tournaments

Online Poker Pass - Sit & Gos

In my opinion sit and go’s are great for 3 things in particular:  Building your bankroll, learning tournament strategy, and for when you want to play but are crunched for time.

What is a Sit & Go?

Sit & Go’s are basically mini-tournaments. The only difference is that they have a ‘set’, small amount of entrants allowed to play.  Usually this set number of entrants is 9, although sometimes higher.

In this case, once 9 people have signed up, the game begins. It does not end until 1 player has all of the chips.

Blind Structure: Just like in Multi-Table Tournaments, the blinds keep increasing until the tournament is over and 1 player has all of the chips. In most cases, the increase every 10 minutes. But this is different everywhere you play, and it will always tell you in the tournament lobby before hand.

Payouts: This can vary as well, but in most cases the top 30% of the players will be payed. So if 9 people start, then 3 will be payed. If it is a 6 man sit and go, then 2 will be payed.

Sit & Go’s are a great way build your bankroll, as well as become familiar with tournament poker and tournament strategy.

They also are great for players who only have an hour or less to play, and do not want to commit a whole day to playing a multi-table tournament.

Clear the bonus!  Sit and go players often find the sites with the best deposit bonus, and play SnG’s until they clear their bonus.  Then they move on to the next site, and do it all over again.  This is a great way to build an initial bankroll.

So check out the different online poker sites that are out there, and find one that suits you today.

Good luck at the tables!
